Dream team Charles Leclerc – Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari in 2025
The record-holder for Formula 1 victories and pole positions, together with a crystalline talent that has been waiting for the right car to win the world title for years: in 2025, Scuderia Ferrari will have Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc in the box, a pair that will be very difficult to match by opponents in terms of specific weight.
Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur, along with President John Elkann, managed to convince Lewis Hamilton to join the Maranello team in 2025, fulfilling a dream for all the actors involved in this fascinating adventure that will begin next season with a multi-year contract, also looking towards 2026 when Formula One will change radically in terms of regulations for both cars (lighter and less voluminous in terms of dimensions) and power units (there will be no MGU-H, the fuel will be 100% bio, and the electric part must deliver more power in relation to thermal power than currently).
Former Ferrari driver Felipe Massa commented on the ‘operation of the century’ when interviewed by the Italian daily newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport: “A great move, Lewis Hamilton is a fantastic driver; almost all F1 records are his.” According to the Brazilian driver, the Italian side decided not to miss the opportunity to sign the seven-time champion because the title didn’t come with Charles Leclerc: “If Leclerc wants to become exceptional, he must not be afraid of anyone,” Felipe Massa explained. “Senna fought with Prost until he pushed him elsewhere.”
Finally, the former Brazilian driver does not believe that Carlos Sainz will be a disruptive element, considering that he is aware of having his bags packed at the end of the season: “Having a declining Carlos Sainz is not convenient for Ferrari, which needs points for the Constructors’ Championship. Carlos will respect the team because he has a reputation to defend, and no team wants a driver who causes problems.” – Felipe Massa concluded.
