Sebastian Vettel at 24 Hours of Le Mans? “I can’t rule it out…”. Could Sebastian Vettel be the right man for Porsche at the next 24 Hours of Le Mans?.

After ending his Formula 1 career following the 2022 championship, former Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel has focused on other personal goals, though he hasn’t completely abandoned the distant call of competition. Now, a chance has opened up for the German at the 2025 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Active in his own campaigns raising awareness on social issues, Sebastian Vettel has never entirely closed the door on a return to the wheel. The 37-year-old from Heppenheim already has plans to compete next year alongside Mick Schumacher in the Race of Champions.

However, the ROC may not be the only commitment for the four-time F1 champion in 2025. The former Ferrari and Red Bull driver is in contention for a seat in the “race of races,” the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The team that would welcome Sebastian Vettel to this endurance classic would be Porsche. The German outfit will field three 963 cars in next June’s event in France, and one seat remains open.

Could Sebastian Vettel be the right man for Porsche at the next 24 Hours of Le Mans? HyperCar division director Urs Kuratle hasn’t ruled out Seb: “It’s true, we’re still missing a driver. We need to think about who to choose. We’re assessing options, but there’s no name on the table yet. Nothing is finalized, though we have some ideas.” – he pointed out.

Are these just polite words or a real possibility? When Sebastian Vettel was mentioned, Urs Kuratle didn’t dismiss the idea outright. “Sebastian and Porsche have a good relationship and are in contact,” he explained to Sportscar365.com. “I can’t rule out this possibility for now, but nothing is defined yet.”
