In recent days, Formula 1 has actively worked to help the citizens affected by the flooding in the areas surrounding Imola, where the next Grand Prix was scheduled to take place this weekend. The drivers themselves have not held back, sharing messages of encouragement on social media and providing links for donations.
Yuki Tsunoda was even seen shoveling mud in Faenza, the city where AlphaTauri is based and where the Japanese driver is currently staying. But the race to solidarity doesn’t end there: a few days ago, it was announced that Ferrari would donate one million euros to support the Emilia Romagna region, and yesterday Formula One itself replicated the same initiative.
In addition to these acts of generosity, another wonderful piece of news arrived today: as reported by Sky Sport, the teams have agreed to donate the food intended for the hospitality areas to the people of Romagna. The food, which had already been purchased and delivered to Imola, was collected by the NGO No Sprechi, and in the coming days, it will be distributed to those in need. The hope now is that this donated food will help alleviate some pressure on the relief efforts and meet the demands at least for a few days.
