Charles Leclerc bids farewell to Carlos Sainz: “An honor to fight by your side for Ferrari”. Charles Leclerc says goodbye to his Ferrari teammate Carlos Sainz.

The 2024 Formula 1 season has ended, and farewells are in order at Ferrari. Charles Leclerc took the opportunity to bid a heartfelt farewell, particularly to Carlos Sainz. As of today, the two are officially former teammates, with the Spaniard already completing a few laps in the Williams at Abu Dhabi ahead of tomorrow’s tests.

Charles Leclerc shared a touching message on social media to mark the end of 2024, say goodbye to Carlos Sainz, and look ahead to Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 season. In an Instagram post, the Monegasque driver chose a series of emotional moments from the season, including his victories in Monaco and Monza, along with some photos alongside Carlos Sainz.

Charles Leclerc to his former teammate: “An honor to fight by your side for this team”

“Third in the Drivers’ Championship and second in the Constructors’ Championship. We came so close to achieving our ultimate goal, and losing the championship in the final race is hard to accept. But I’m very proud of what we accomplished as a team this year. We turned a tough start to the season into a strong battle for the Constructors’ title, right down to the last lap of the final race,” wrote the Monegasque driver.

He then reflected on his two most significant victories, which carry a special meaning for Ferrari’s number 16. “Winning Monaco and Monza has always been a dream of mine, and this year we managed to win both. It’s something I’ll remember forever.”

Finally, Charles Leclerc addressed Carlos Sainz: “Carlos, thank you for being an amazing teammate and for always pushing me to improve. It’s been an honor to fight alongside you for Ferrari.”

The Monegasque driver concluded with a sweet promise: “And finally, thank you to all of you who supported me throughout the year, in good times and bad. Our time will come, I’m sure of it. We’ll work hard to prepare for next season in the best possible way, and we’ll try again.”
