Last week, at the Fiorano circuit, near its headquarters, Scuderia Ferrari officially revealed its SF-23 challenger in a great on-track presentation that thrilled the fans and generated a lot of enthusiasm for the Tifosi ahead of the 2023 Formula 1 championship, a season in which Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are confident the SF-23 car will allow them to fight for race wins and even the titles. The new Ferrari single-seater has been described as “an ‘extreme evolution’ of the F1-75 car seen in the previous championship.
But what do the ex-Ferrari men think of the car designed in Maranello? Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport asked Giancarlo Fisichella for an opinion. Let’s find out the view of the former Formula 1 driver, who last year raced in the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Giancarlo Fisichella’s comment on the SF-23
“The first thing you think is that it’s beautiful just like always”, Giancarlo Fisichella said when asked by La Gazzetta dello Sport about the new Ferrari single-seater for the 2023 Formula 1 championship.
He then added: “A great job has been done on the sidepods and on the air intakes which are very different from last year’s. It seems to me a streamlined, fast car. As for the new team, I there is a lot of enthusiasm to do well. I am sure that a step forward has been taken. Whether it will be enough will also depend on the level of Ferrari’s opponents, but for sure the SF-23 will be in the fight with the best cars on track, because it starts from last year’s base, especially from the competitiveness we saw at the beginning of 2022 and from all the poles positions taken last season.” – Giancarlo Fisichella explained.

Finally, La Gazzetta dello Sport asked the Italian professional racing driver to share his thoughts on the fight for the 2023 Formula One title, with the season set to start on March 5 in Bahrain: “Red Bull will always remain Red Bull, Mercedes will return to what they have always been, which is a top team. We understood that from the recovery Mercedes was able to make in the second half of last year. It will be a three-way battle, I think, I hope, and it will be much tighter than last year”. – Giancarlo Fisichella concluded.
