Gerhard Berger is confident: “This season, I would bet everything on Ferrari”. Gerhard Berger is convinced that Ferrari will win a world title in 2025.

F1’s 2025 season is about to begin
With the London event on Tuesday, February 18, Formula 1 will officially kick off the 2025 season. In the following days, teams will unveil their new car designs, leading up to the collective testing in Bahrain at the end of the month (starting on 2/26). In short, there is very little time left before the start of one of the most unpredictable championships in recent years.

Gerhard Berger sees red
In an interview with German magazine *Auto, Motor und Sport*, former Benetton and Ferrari driver Gerhard Berger stated that he sees the Prancing Horse as the favorite: “This season, I would bet everything on Ferrari. I can’t say whether Hamilton or Leclerc will be champion or if they will win the Drivers’ or Constructors’ Championship, but they will win a title. That’s my impression—it took some time, but they’ve come very close. They are well-positioned in terms of engine and chassis and have a top-level driver pairing.” – the Austrian explained.

Speaking about Lewis Hamilton, Gerhard Berger added: “I think he needed new motivation. He had two problems: Mercedes had become a winning car only sporadically, and he had been there for so long that he needed a change of scenery. He could return to performing at his best, though I believe he will struggle to match Charles Leclerc’s speed.” He further analyzed: “Seeing him win a title with Ferrari would be the greatest marketing event in Formula 1 history.” – he pointed out.

Finally, the Austrian praised team principal Frédéric Vasseur: “I find him calm, thoughtful, precise, and always able to complete his tasks. Hiring him was a good decision, but it was clear that it would take one or two years to see the results of his work. Bringing Lewis Hamilton to Maranello was fantastic, and Fred Vasseur will bring Ferrari back to the top,” Gerhard Berger concluded.
