With the 2023 Formula One season behind us, it’s time to look to the future. And former Scuderia Ferrari driver Jean Alesi wanted to warn the Maranello team: the watchword for 2024 is not to repeat some serious mistakes of the past, not only from a sporting perspective.
The former French driver continues: “Beware of creating illusions that then amplify disappointments and sorrows in the face of a defeat.”
But it’s not just about the sporting side. Ferrari has shown serious shortcomings in recent years, even on the purely political profile and the determination of the team. Jean Alesi’s warning is therefore directed once again at the top management of the team: “I really hope that the top management of Ferrari decide to present the team’s and the brand’s reasons much more decisively.”
Jean Alesi would like a more decisive Ferrari. The reference to the recent incident in Nevada is explicit: “I believe it is necessary to intervene to correct rules that are difficult to understand for every enthusiast. I am referring especially to what happened in Las Vegas with that absurd manhole incident and the consequent penalty for Carlos Sainz.” – he pointed out – “In short, it’s time to move,” encourages the 59-year-old from Avignon. “On the technical front but also on the front of sports policy, a aspect that, in my opinion, has been too overlooked in recent years.” – the Frenchman concluded.
