Lewis Hamilton grabbed attention of Drive to Survive team with one move in F1 Bahrain paddock. Lewis Hamilton caught the eye of the Drive to Survive crew during F1 testing.

Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari 2025 F1

Lewis Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari is set to be one of the most captivating storylines in the upcoming season of Drive to Survive. Netflix’s popular documentary series is set to release its latest season in just a week, and Hamilton’s move to the Scuderia is already drawing significant attention.

Ferrari officially announced the signing of Hamilton in early February, just a month before the 2025 Formula 1 season began. His split with Mercedes was far from easy, with Hamilton finishing outside the top six in the championship standings for the first time in his illustrious career. The magnitude of his move set off a ripple effect in the driver market, with Carlos Sainz’s availability shifting the plans of several midfield teams.

Even before season seven of Drive to Survive is released, Netflix has already commissioned season eight. The production crews have been spotted at the Bahrain testing sessions, capturing footage of the latest developments. Hamilton, as always, continues to be one of the most high-profile figures in the sport, and his first appearance in the paddock on Wednesday was a spectacle. Photographers were stationed outside the Ferrari garage, eagerly awaiting any glimpse of the seven-time world champion.

Undoubtedly, this transfer is one of the most significant in F1 history. While other legendary drivers have joined iconic teams in the past, Hamilton’s status as the sport’s most famous figure adds an extra layer of intrigue.

During F1 testing, Hamilton was seen engaging in a conversation with Carlos Sainz, now with Williams, on the morning of day two. Leclerc was testing the Ferrari before lunch, while Carlos Sainz’s session wrapped up by the end of the day. The two drivers appeared to share a cordial relationship. Despite Ferrari’s decision to part ways with Sainz, the Spaniard held no personal animosity towards Lewis Hamilton. Instead, the former Renault and McLaren driver seemed to acknowledge that the opportunity to sign Lewis Hamilton was a rare and unique one for the Maranello team.

F1 reporter Chris Medland noted that Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz exchanged some laughs, but their discussion caught the attention of the Drive to Survive crew, who promptly ensured a microphone was placed in the vicinity. Realizing the situation, both drivers agreed to continue their chat away from the cameras.

Lewis Hamilton is fully aware of the challenge he faces in adapting to Ferrari, and he has been studying the methods of past Scuderia drivers like Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel, who both achieved success early in their Ferrari careers. Alonso won on his debut at the 2010 Bahrain Grand Prix, and Sebastian Vettel secured a victory in just his second race for Ferrari in 2015. The commercial impact of Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari is immense, and the team hopes that the pairing of Hamilton and Leclerc will help break the championship drought that dates back to the late 2000s.

Ferrari’s chairman, John Elkann, has made a rare visit to the Bahrain testing, emphasizing the importance of Hamilton’s arrival. Both the commercial and competitive significance of his presence cannot be overstated. Hamilton has been mindful of the challenges that lie ahead, particularly with the task of managing expectations for his first races with Ferrari.
