Fabian Vettel doesn’t believe in the Lewis Hamilton – Ferrari partnership
During the winter pre-season testing session at the Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir, Sky’s German branch interviewed Fabian Vettel, Sebastian’s brother and a racing driver himself, who finished seventh in the BOSS GP series last year.
The 25-year-old German driver made some statements that were notable, particularly his somewhat unexpected assessment of the union between Lewis Hamilton and Scuderia Ferrari, set to take place starting with the 2025 Formula One championship.
“The personalities of Lewis and the Ferrari team, as I experienced it as Seb’s biggest supporter, don’t match very well,” explained Fabian Vettel.
Of course, Sky journalists then inquired about the possibility of Sebastian returning to Formula 1, considering the Mercedes seat of Lewis Hamilton will become available in a year: “I’m not in a position to speak for him,” emphasized Fabian Vettel, concluding, “I don’t doubt a certain possible desire and the allure of a comeback, nor his capabilities, but I’m skeptical. Sebastian left Formula 1 for a reason, and 24 races a year seem like a lot to me.” – he concluded.
