Leo Turrini explains why Gino Rosato and Jonathan Giacobazzi left Ferrari. Why Gino Rosato and Jonathan Giacobazzi left Ferrari.

As we know, between November 2022 and the beginning of 2023 there were some big changes at Scuderia Ferrari. First the resignation of team principal Mattia Binotto, then the arrival of Frederic Vasseur as new team boss and finally the departure of some important figures within the Maranello team. Gino Rosato and Jonathan Giacobazzi, for example, ended their collaboration with the Ferrari Formula 1 Division at the end of February, after years and years of honorable service.

Contrary to what was rumored, however, they did it of their own free will (just like the former team principal). The information was revealed by well-known Italian journalist and Ferrari insider Leo Turrini, in his quotidiano.net blog.

The comments of Leo Turrini
“I’m sorry that Jonathan Giacobazzi, after ten years spent in the heart of the racing department, has decided to leave the company,” Leo Turrini wrote in his most recent article. The Italian journalist then added: “He’s not a technician, he has nothing to do with the competitiveness of the single-seater. On the other hand, he ensured a generous, managerial contribution of passion for Ferrari. A passion that came from afar, from the times when his family sponsored Gilles Villeneuve. Too bad he left, it’s a loss.”

Regarding is Gino Rosato, however, Leo Turrini writes: “And it is a loss, I write about it because some of you have asked me, Ginone Rosato’s departure”. “Here too, be careful!, he’s not an engineer. So we’re talking about an area that is not directly linked to the performance of the Formula 1 car. Gino was involved in “politics” in the good sense of the term. He no longer agreed with the choices made by the senior management.” – revealed the journalist.
