However, his determination and probably some painkillers helped him complete the scheduled work program for FP1 and FP2. At the end of the two Thursday sessions, the Spaniard was visibly drained and lacking in energy, to the point where he was hospitalized shortly after due to appendicitis inflammation.

After emergency surgery, Carlos Sainz had a chance to rest, albeit very briefly, in the hospital bed. In fact, as soon as he got the okay from the doctors, Carlos Sainz dressed in Ferrari’s “uniform” and headed to the circuit to follow his team’s race. Once in the Jeddah paddock, the Spaniard immediately headed to the Ferrari garage to embrace everyone.
