The 2025 F1 tests in Bahrain are nearing their end, and we review the times while awaiting the final standings. Teams have three days to put themselves to the test on the Sakhir circuit, chosen instead of Barcelona, which is usually colder at this time of year.
However, the ten teams were caught off guard by the weather, which was not as mild as expected. Bahrain is significantly colder, with a risk of rain.
On Wednesday, February 26, the fastest driver was Lando Norris in the McLaren with a time of 1:30.430. Completing the top three were George Russell (Mercedes) at +0.157 seconds and Max Verstappen (Red Bull) at +0.244 from the leader. Fourth was Charles Leclerc in his Ferrari, followed by Carlos Sainz in the Williams. The other Ferrari, driven by Lewis Hamilton, was further behind, outside the top 10, after a less-than-ideal first day.
Thursday, February 27, saw a shake-up in the standings. The fastest was Carlos Sainz, who went under Norris’s Day 1 time with a lap of 1:29.348. Second was Hamilton (the fastest in the morning) at +0.031, followed by Leclerc at +0.083 from his former teammate.
