Amid hugs and goodbyes in the Mercedes garage, Lewis Hamilton took a moment to observe Ferrari’s operations from a distance—though not for much longer. The eager British champion looks forward to beginning his journey with his new team in Maranello. After the race in Yas Marina, the driver of car #44 finally opened up about his move to Fred Vasseur’s squad.
Formula 1 enters its off-season, albeit briefly. Lewis Hamilton is already focused on what lies ahead:
“This will be the shortest break I’ve ever had! I need to train for next year and adapt quickly. I’ll be in a new environment with a new car.”
An Excited Lewis Hamilton Anticipates Joining Ferrari
“I really want to give everything; I’m incredibly excited,” Lewis Hamilton admitted to *Sky Italia*. “I can’t wait to meet my new team.”
“I’ve kept a low profile in the paddock,” the seven-time champion explained. “Out of respect for my current team, I didn’t want to make anyone uncomfortable. I avoided entering the ‘red zone,’ but very soon, I’ll begin working with Ferrari.”
Reflecting on Ferrari’s strong finish to the season, Hamilton offered congratulations and words of encouragement:
“They did a fantastic job towards the end of the year. Carlos, even today, performed exceptionally. I truly hope I can make a valuable contribution,” the British driver concluded.
