After its final race in Abu Dhabi crowned Gabriel Bortoleto as champion, Formula 2 is ready to take a break. For 2025, many changes are expected across teams and paddocks. Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Gabriel Bortoleto, and Ollie Bearman have officially graduated to Formula 1, while Zane Maloney and Taylor Barnard have chosen to continue their careers in Formula E. Here’s a look at who will step into their seats in the feeder series.
2025 Formula 2 Grid
The 2025 season will feature ten rookies on the starting grid. Below is an overview of all eleven teams’ line-ups, listed according to the Constructors’ Championship standings.
Invicta Racing
The reigning champions have selected 2024 Formula 3 champion Leonardo Fornaroli for the upcoming season. The Piacenza native, who narrowly defeated Gabriele Minì in a dramatic finish at Monza, is ready to take the highly anticipated step toward Formula 1. Joining him is former Trident driver Roman Stanek, who returns to the grid in a new team after switching from his previous outfit.
Campos Racing
The Spanish team has so far announced only one driver: Arvid Lindblad, a young talent from the Red Bull Academy. After competing in Formula 3 with Prema and nearly winning the title in his rookie season, the British driver is set to test his skills in Formula 2.
MP Motorsport
Richard Verschoor will return to MP Motorsport, the team with which he raced in Formula 4, Formula 3, and debuted in Formula 2 in 2021. He leaves Trident after parting ways with the Italian team two weeks ago. He will team up with German driver Oliver Goethe, a Red Bull Academy member who made his Formula 2 debut in Monza, filling in for Franco Colapinto. Goethe is set for his first full F2 season.
Hitech Pulse-Eight
Hitech will feature another Formula 3 title contender, Luke Browning, a Williams program member promoted to Formula 2 after a season of ups and downs that kept him in contention for the title until Monza. Alongside him will be Ferrari Driver Academy’s Dino Beganovic. The Swedish driver competed in the last two rounds of the 2024 F2 season with Dams and is now ready for his official debut in 2025.
Prema Racing
Prema will field another Italian talent, Gabriele Minì, who continues with the team after competing in Formula 3 this season. The Alpine Academy driver already had a taste of Formula 2 in Baku, where he replaced Oliver Bearman and adapted quickly to the car. He will contest his first full F2 season in 2025 alongside Colombian rookie Sebastian Montoya, son of Juan Pablo Montoya, who will also debut with Prema.
