Stefano Domenicali gives vote to F1: “A rating of 8 for 2024, but next year will be higher”. Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali rates the season with a high grade .

Stefano Domenicali returns to Imola
After many months traveling the world with Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali had the opportunity to return home. The occasion came with the Golden Helmets ceremony, the Italian motorsport Oscars awarded by the Autosprint magazine at the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome in Imola (the city where Stefano Domenicali was born). It was here that the head of the GP paddock shared his thoughts on the just-concluded F1 World Championship, giving a rather high rating to the show put on by champion Max Verstappen and the rivals who tried to challenge him.

F1, Stefano Domenicali speaks
“To the season,” said Stefano Domenicali regarding the 2024 F1 World Championship, speaking to Sky microphones on the sidelines of the ceremony, “I would give a grade of 8. Intense from many points of view, with many things to talk about. But I believe that next year may have an even higher rating because we have all the ingredients (for a great show, ed.). We will also have many young drivers on track, and this reflects the positive moment for our sport.” – the former Ferrari team principal pointed out.

“The next goal? I would like to consolidate,” the 59-year-old manager added, “the growth we’ve had in recent years, even in those countries or continents where we are not yet as strong and rooted as in others. And then there are also technical issues, like new sustainable fuels and the film (the reference is to ‘F1’ with Brad Pitt, set to be released in cinemas in 2025, ed.) that will take us into a new dimension of the audience.”

Imola, working on “rotation”
The stage set by the Enzo and Dino Ferrari Autodrome in Imola could not help but prompt the big boss of the Formula 1 circus to talk about the future of the Emilia-Romagna GP on the calendar. The contract between the circuit and Liberty Media will expire at the end of 2025, and there is no renewal yet, although for months – the idea is Domenicali’s own – there has been talk of alternating some historic tracks with smaller financial capacities every year. Stefano Domenicali does not deny it: “It must not be forgotten that Imola responded to our call during the Covid period, when there weren’t enough races. It’s also clear that today organizing two races in one country isn’t something that can have stability because there are many states that want a GP. But we are working on a solution…” – the Italian manager concluded.
