“Montoya por favor”: the Temptation Island trend also takes over Formula 1 – VIDEO. The .

The “Montoya por favor” trend has now made its way into the world of F1. As often happens on social media, some videos can go viral for the most unexpected reasons.

In this case, the unsuspecting contestant from *La Isla de Las Tentaciones* (the Spanish *Temptation Island*), José Carlos Montoya, never imagined he would become famous after witnessing his partner’s betrayal live.

In the reality show, couples test their relationships by spending weeks surrounded by temptresses and tempters trying to shake their commitments.

After watching a video of his girlfriend in bed with one of the seducers, the contestant has an over-the-top reaction, straight out of a classic telenovela. He screams desperately and then runs toward the girlfriends’ village to confront her. The show’s host, Sandra Barneda, tries to calm him down, leading to the now-iconic phrase: “Montoya, por favor.”

The dramatic nature of his reaction sparked the imagination of the sports world, reaching football and, most notably, Formula 1. The official F1 account playfully referenced the contestant by featuring “its own” Montoya—none other than former Colombian driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
