Carlos Sainz has officially signed a contract with another team for 2025. Let’s find out together what the next step in the Spaniard’s career will be and how Ferrari reacted to the news.
Carlos Sainz in Williams, the announcement
As announced by the team, the Spanish driver will join Alex Albon at Williams starting next year. Here’s the statement: “Carlos Sainz will join the team for 2025, ’26 and beyond! Welcome, Carlos.”
The English team has spent several years at the back of the grid, but under the guidance of James Vowles, it seems to have found the right path to return to fighting at the top.
After all, a team boasting 9 constructors’ titles, 7 drivers’ world championships, 114 wins, and 128 pole positions is called to rise from the ashes. Evidently, Carlos Sainz wants to be an integral part of this reconstruction process.
Carlos Sainz’s comments
These are the comments of the Spanish driver on social media: “Hello everyone, today I am announcing that I will be part of the Williams family from 2025 onwards.”
“As you know, these have been intense months, trying to combine racing and deciding my future, but now I am 100% charged and confident that Williams is the right place for the coming years. I believe a lot in the project and the progress that has been made, and from January 1, 2025, I will push to the maximum to bring the team back where it belongs. Now it’s time to rest during the summer break, recharge my batteries for the remaining races with Ferrari. I want to be ready to try to get more wins and podiums before the end of the year. Thank you for your support in these months. I want to thank James Vowles and the entire Williams Board of Directors for their trust and determination. Their strong leadership and beliefs played an important role in my decision-making process. I truly believe that the heart of every successful team lies in the people and their culture. Williams is synonymous with legacy and pure racing, the foundations of the project that awaits us are very solid and I can’t wait to be a part of it starting next year,” concluded Carlos Sainz.
Shortly after the official announcement, Scuderia Ferrari reacted to the news with a post on social media: “Great to see you joining such an iconic team, Carlos! Let’s make these last 10 races count and finish the season on a high” – the Maranello team posted on its official X account.
