On Monday, fans hoped to catch a glimpse of Lewis Hamilton entering the Ferrari Racing Division headquarters, while yesterday saw the crowd of those who didn’t want to miss the English champion’s first laps in a Ferrari.

Two thousand people pressed against the fences of the Fiorano track, in the few observation points available to onlookers around the Fiorano circuit. This estimate comes from law enforcement, who ensured that Hamilton’s debut took place without any incidents. A “full house” was recorded, greater than for other world champions who had joined Ferrari in the past, such as Michael Schumacher, Fernando Alonso, and Sebastian Vettel.

Mayor Luigi Zironi organized a security service that involved not only Maranello’s (few) municipal police but also their colleagues from Fiorano and neighboring towns, as well as the police, carabinieri, safety volunteers, and Ferrari personnel.

I saw many foreigners, a lot of young boys and girls. Of course, traffic, especially near the bridge, suffered, but it was a… positive gathering.” Even passing motorists couldn’t resist taking a peek at what was happening on the track.
