Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher team up again for 2023 Race of Champions edition. Schumacher and Vettel team up again for Race of Champions.

Former Scuderia Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel and former Ferrari Driver Academy member Mick Schumacher will reunite in order to take part in the 2023 Race of Champions, scheduled for next month.

The moment will be Sebastian Vettel’s first race commitment after retiring from Formula 1 racing following the last round of the 2022 season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit. The race will also be Mick Schumacher’s first event since leaving the Ferrari Academy and moving to Mercedes, with the hope of finding a seat on the grid in 2024.

Alongside the individual competition, Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher will team up to compete for Team Germany in the ROC Nations Cup.

Other former and current Formula 1 drivers are expected to take part in this event, such as Mika Hakkinen and Valtteri Bottas (Team Finland), as well as David Coulthard and Jamie Chadwick (Team GB). Formula 2 Champion Felipe Drugovich will also compete.

The combination of Mick Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel competed in the Race of Champions this year and also three years ago, while former Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel won individual races in 2015 and 2019.

“I’m delighted that Mick will be joining me at the Race Of Champions again – for my first race since my retirement from Formula 1,” Sebastian Vettel confirmed – “Neither of us has much experience on snow and ice so it was a steep learning curve in Sweden earlier this year. I ended up surprising myself by getting to the individual final against Sébastien Loeb and now I can’t wait to come back and team up with Mick to see if we can take Team Germany all the way to another ROC Nations Cup title.” – he added.

The 2023 Race of Champions is scheduled to take place in Sweden on the weekend of 28th-29th January.
