Ferrari wins in Mexico and moves closer to the Constructors’ Championship lead, yet Italian newspapers dedicate only a brief note on the front page: here’s the press review. This is partly due to the Italian derby between Juventus and Inter, which took place shortly before the Mexico City race.
Ferrari fans certainly expected more from the front pages of the newspapers they usually read. But in Italy, as we know, the importance given to football is vastly different. In this regard, however, it’s interesting to compare with the front pages of Spain’s two most-read newspapers, which fully dedicated their front page to Carlos Sainz’s victory.

La Gazzetta dello Sport headlines “Red Dream,” while Corriere dello Sport writes “Ferrari, World Hit.” This refers to the fact that Ferrari gained precious points in the championship despite missing out on a one-two finish in the final laps. Tuttosport also dedicates a brief note to Ferrari, writing “Red Fury” (which, incidentally, is the nickname used for the Spanish national football team).
In fact, in the final laps, Charles Leclerc almost hit the wall in a battle with Lando Norris. However, number 16 kept his car on track and brought home valuable points in the championship battle. In Spain, on the other hand, they chose to fully dedicate their front pages to Carlos Sainz after a weekend completely dominated by the Spaniard.
As headlines “Sainz conquers Mexico” with a photo of the Spaniard on the Mexico City podium. Marca, on the other hand, simply writes “Magnificent” with a photo of Carlos Sainz on his Ferrari at the finish line, covering the entire front page.
