British racing driver and 2009 Formula One world champion, Jenson Button, was interviewed by ran.de and asked about Scuderia Ferrari German driver Sebastian Vettel’s current difficult period with the Maranello team. The former Formula 1 driver, who is currently part of Sky Sports’ punditry team, defended Sebastian Vettel and confirmed that the Italian side and backed the German driver to come back strong alongside Ferrari:
“Sebastian is a four-time Formula 1 world champion and now has a young, talented teammate who is doing an outstanding job, which means that he is not in a very good position. But both Ferrari and the fans are behind him. I always feel that when I’m at the track.” – Jenson Button explained, as reported by ran.de – “Seb hasn’t lost his talent. It is definitely still there. He is just going through a brutally difficult phase at the moment. There are always certain cars that fit certain drivers. At the moment maybe his car just doesn’t fit his style. Seb will hope that this will change next season.” – he added.

Jenson Button also admitted that he is happy for Scuderia Ferrari, as the Maranello team seems to once again be competitive in this second part of the 2019 Formula One season: “But above all, I’m happy to see Ferrari competitive again. They are fighting a tough battle with Mercedes, but Red Bull can also annoy them on good days.” – he concluded.
