Tribute to ‘Magic’
On Saturday, November 2, after the on-track activities at the 4.309-kilometre Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Brazil, Formula 1 begins with the Sprint at 3:00 pm Central European Standard Time, followed by Qualifying at 7:00 pm, future Scuderia Ferrari driver Lewis Hamilton will drive Ayrton Senna’s 1990 McLaren (the MP4/5B).
This preview comes from Brazilian outlet UOL Esporte, with Lewis Hamilton’s laps in the car set to be the grand finale of a journey that has already started for this iconic vehicle. The car has already “made an appearance” at the presentation for the race weekend held yesterday. Tomorrow, the #27 MP4/5B will also be displayed in downtown São Paulo at an event attended by Emerson Fittipaldi, who won the world championship with McLaren in 1974.
Seven-time Formula 1 world champion Lewis Hamilton has never hidden his deep admiration for Ayrton Senna and will surely feel honored and moved to pay tribute to ‘Magic’ on the Brazilian legend’s home track. He will drive the car with which Ayrton Senna claimed his second world championship title in 1990, following an intense rivalry with Alain Prost, who had joined Ferrari after winning the title with McLaren in 1989.
