It’s an obsession. Not because I won’t have the chance after Abu Dhabi, but because I always aim to do my best every weekend. There is still plenty of time to try; six events and three Sprint Races remain.” – he pointed out, ahead of the United States Grand Prix in Austin.

Victory possible only on one condition
However, the SF-24 single-seater has shown inconsistent performance throughout the 2024 Formula One season. After a strong start, there was a significant downturn following the update introduced in Spain, though there were some signs of recovery starting with the Italian Grand Prix, which was won by Charles Leclerc in Monza.

On this matter, Carlos Sainz added: “At tracks like Austin, Brazil, Qatar, and Abu Dhabi, we will need to show that we’ve made progress. If we do, we might have a chance to fight for victory under certain conditions. But looking at Spa and Hungary, we were still behind.
