Not just Charles Leclerc: another F1 driver witnessed Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari test at Fiorano. It wasn’t only Charles Leclerc watching Lewis Hamilton’s first laps in a Ferrari F1 car.

Lewis Hamilton’s first time in a Ferrari: aside from Charles Leclerc, another F1 driver attended the Fiorano test. A historic moment for Ferrari and Formula 1—a seven-time world champion returning to the cockpit of a car born in Maranello. The team has since moved to Barcelona, where the TPC and Pirelli tests will continue.

The first time in a Ferrari is unforgettable. Hamilton’s Fiorano test, those first laps in a Red car, are destined to become legendary. It marks a new chapter in the extraordinary career of the British champion, who aims for the ultimate record—an eighth title that would secure his place in history.

Alongside the thousands of fans gathered to witness Hamilton’s first moments in a Ferrari, two Formula 1 drivers had the privilege of watching the test. One was, of course, Charles Leclerc—his new teammate and likely his first rival in the battle for the championship. The other was a Haas driver.

The mystery driver: who watched Hamilton’s first Ferrari test?

In an interview with “La Boîte A Questions” on Canal+, Esteban Ocon revealed that he was present for Hamilton’s first laps: “I was lucky to be in the same place on the same day because I was at Ferrari’s simulator.” Haas still benefits from its technical partnership with Ferrari, which includes access to the simulator.

“There was an incredible atmosphere, people were going crazy, and it’s just wonderful to see so much passion for Ferrari and F1, which keeps growing. Having the greatest driver of our generation in the most successful team is something incredible. So yes, I can’t wait to battle with him on track, that’s for sure.”
