Ferrari F1 event in Milan, Lewis Hamilton jokes: “They gave me a lot of pizza and pasta!”. Lewis Hamilton kicks off Ferrari's F1 season with a shout in Italian.

MILAN – Lewis Hamilton kicks off Ferrari’s F1 season with a shout in Italian. The event, organized by the Prancing Horse team in partnership with UniCredit, was a success. Thousands of people gathered in Piazza Castello to celebrate the start of the season with the Maranello drivers, just hours before their departure for the Australian Grand Prix.

With the season just around the corner, there are still a few days left before heading to Melbourne. For Ferrari, it was the perfect occasion to launch the new championship and greet its fans from Piazza Castello in Milan. It was a unique event attended by Charles Leclerc, Lewis Hamilton, Frédéric Vasseur, CEO Benedetto Vigna, and well-known faces from Sky Sport F1.

Beyond interviews and smiles, there were also donuts on the city streets. Charles Leclerc took the wheel of his historic SF90, the car with which he won at Spa-Francorchamps and Monza in 2019. Meanwhile, Ferrari’s new arrival, seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, drove the SF21, the car used in the 2021 championship. At the end of the performance, a message from Hamilton sent the fans into a frenzy.

Lewis Hamilton (in Italian) fires up the fans
“Hello, everyone! This is my second time here, but the first time in front of the fans. It’s amazing to be in this beautiful city of Milan. There is nothing like the passion Ferrari fans have. This is all new to me—I was at Fiorano and saw some fans at the track, but this is the first time I see them up close and can actually touch them.”

“This is my first exhibition with this car, and being in a city, in Italy, is truly something special. The pasta and pizza they gave me are fantastic—if you look at me, you can tell I’ve eaten a lot!”

“[In Italian]: Thank you all, I love you!”
