2025: Ferrari’s New Line-Up
The 2024 Formula 1 season continues, but even before its start, the news that Lewis Hamilton had signed with Scuderia Ferrari for the 2025 championship was already made official. The British driver will replace Carlos Sainz (whose future in the sport remains uncertain for now), becoming the new Maranello teammate of Charles Leclerc.

The Talent to Become Champion
The resume of the Monegasque driver is much more modest compared to that of #44, as evidenced by the latter’s seven Formula 1 world championship titles compared to the Ferrari driver’s five wins and 32 podiums in 107 GPs with the Scuderia. Successes were made difficult first by the dominance of Lewis Hamilton himself at Mercedes and later by Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, not to mention some missteps by Ferrari and the driver in recent years. Despite this, Charles Leclerc is universally recognized as one of the brightest talents in Formula 1 today, to the extent that he possesses all the qualities to one day become a world champion.

In an interview with GPFans, Canadian professional racing driver Jacques Villeneuve drew a parallel between George Russell’s arrival at Mercedes and Charles Leclerc’s at Ferrari: “Russell was not brought into Mercedes as a champion, but rather as a youngster who still had to prove his worth. In contrast, Charles arrived at Ferrari as a champion, when he was not one yet. And he couldn’t be one just for beating someone in karting, he needs to prove it. Sure, he’s fast, very fast, but the one who won a Grand Prix with Ferrari last year wasn’t him.” – Jacques Villeneuve pointed out.

The 1997 Formula One World Championship with Williams then concluded, looking ahead to the next season: “It will be interesting to see the balance of power within the Scuderia next year, which will be decisive for Charles, but not for Lewis.”
