Michael Schumacher’s Three Best Races Ever. Michael Schumacher’s Three Best Races Ever.

Regarding Formula 1, a special place is reserved for one of the greatest drivers in the competition’s history. We are talking about Michael Schumacher of course, the owner of many records, a game-changer of F1, or simply an amazing athlete, who still captivates the attention of fans. The year 2024 marks the 55th birthday of this amazing former F1 driver, and that is the reason that we wanted to look at some of the highlights of his career, mainly the best races in which he participated.

The Greatness of Michael Schumacher

The German driver started his career similar to many other F1 drivers, in karting, where he won his first karting championship, aged only six. Skills shown at an early age made F1 teams take a close look at this amazing individual. That is why Benetton signed him in 1991. Their faith, and the sports bettors of amazing sites such as Jaxon, paid off early on, as Schumacher was crowned champion in 1994 and 1995. These amazing results recommended him to Ferrari, which was struggling then.

In 1996 he had a chance to drive in Imola as a Ferrari driver for the first time. In this team, he won an amazing five consecutive titles from 2000 to 2004! That was the first time any driver managed to win the sixth and seventh title, and it propelled Schumacher as the Formula 1 GOAT. The German racer broke numerous records and raised the bar for future generations. In doing so, he drove some amazing Grand Prix.

1992 Belgian Grand Prix

This race is extremely important as this was Michael’s first victory in the F1 caravan. Having appeared in 1991 for the team of Eddie Jordan, Schumacher convinced everyone that he was something special. However, the boss of Benetton, Flavio Briatore, acted faster and grabbed him for his team. In his first full season, in 1992, he grabbed a deserved win at the Spa. Qualified as third, he made a mistake and ran wide, which forced him to the pit stop. There, a decision to swap rain tires for slicks proved to be a crucial one, as he came on top before Nigel Mansell.

1998 Hungarian Grand Prix

One of the most iconic races from the Schumacher Era occurred in Budapest. Before realizing all the details, you have to understand that pit stops were a lot longer at that time. Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn made a brave decision at this race, as he decided to take an extra pit stop. Brawn spoke with Michael and told him that he had 19 laps to build a 25-second gap to both McLaren drivers. The German’s response was simply “Ok. Thank you”. Schumi did exactly that, and after the third pit stop came out in first place, winning the race.

1996 Spanish Grand Prix

Fans may hear that Schumacher was an amazing driver in wet conditions. Some races stand as clear proof of that statement, like the 1995 Belgian Grand Prix. The race in Spain, in 1996 was a race so difficult that only six out of twenty racers finished the circuit. Even as he faced a problem with a clutch that slowed him down at the start, by the twelfth lap he was in first position, which he managed to defend from the future world champion Jacques Villeneuve despite terrible visibility.

He achieved the greatest time of his career as a Ferrari driver, and his races were a testament to his great skill and undisputed talent. Many of his races serve as “must-watch” material, and these are the three we wanted to mention as the best.
