Wolff-Hamilton, an unbreakable bond: “If we don’t win, I’d root for Lewis in 2025”. Toto Wolff would cheer for Lewis Hamilton’s eighth title even if the Briton has left Mercedes for Ferrari.

The end of an era
Six world titles, 84 wins, and 78 pole positions. These three numbers alone capture the extraordinary partnership between Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes, which lasted 12 seasons and ended with a fourth-place comeback in Abu Dhabi. After three years of ups and downs, the seven-time world champion sought a team capable of providing top-level competitiveness throughout the season and offering him a real shot at claiming an eighth crown.

Toto Wolff’s words
Toto Wolff, Lewis Hamilton’s ally during Mercedes’ golden era, will still root for Sir Lewis. The Austrian stated that if the Brackley team once again fails to mount a title challenge, he would have no qualms about supporting Lewis Hamilton, even though the Briton has left Mercedes for Ferrari.

“Of course, Mercedes, with its drivers and brand, is the main priority. We’ll give everything we have to win. But if we don’t succeed, we’d cheer for Lewis’s eighth title,” Wolff remarked.

A balanced 2025
Unless 2024 was a mirage, the upcoming season, starting in Melbourne, promises to be one of the most exciting in years, with Red Bull, McLaren, Ferrari, and Mercedes all capable of winning races and securing podiums. In such a tightly contested field, exceptional talent stands out and dominates (as we saw this year with Max Verstappen and Lando Norris), making it logical for Hamilton to view 2025 as a golden opportunity for redemption after Abu Dhabi 2021.
