Jenson Button cautiously assesses Lewis Hamilton’s arrival at Ferrari: here are his comments. According to Jenson Button, success will not come immediately for Lewis Hamilton at Ferrari.

Lewis Hamilton Ferrari

The two British drivers shared a garage for three years during Lewis’s early seasons in Formula 1. Their team was McLaren, and the following year, number 44 moved to Mercedes. He spent 12 years there before transferring to Ferrari. Jenson Button has therefore spoken about Hamilton’s arrival in Maranello, lowering expectations for 2025.

Jenson Button’s judgment on Lewis Hamilton

Hamilton’s former teammate highlighted that this is the first major change for number 44 in many years and pointed out that Ferrari is not just any team—it is always under the spotlight and subject to constant scrutiny from critics. For this reason, he added, it must not have been an easy decision for Lewis, who was already aware of what he was getting into when negotiations took place.

“It will probably take some time for him to adapt. At Ferrari, the pressure is always high. Lewis in red is a great story, but it won’t be easy for him. All eyes will be on Lewis and Ferrari.” – he pointed out.

The first day of testing was packed with track activity for Lewis Hamilton, who is focusing on acquiring new knowledge given the significant change in team, working methods, and car. The new Ferrari driver has expressed his motivation and eagerness to keep working to be as prepared as possible for the first race of the season.

The next session is scheduled for Thursday. At Ferrari, Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton will continue to alternate, with the British driver starting the morning session, just as he did on the first day, before handing over to number 16 in the afternoon.
