Italian journalist confirms Lewis Hamilton “is looking for a house near Maranello” to move to Italy. Leo Turrini on Lewis Hamilton looking for a house near Maranello to move to Italy.

It’s a move that has inevitably been talked about for several months and will continue to be discussed for a long time. We’re talking about Lewis Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari starting from the 2025 season: an agreement announced last February, which marks the coup of the century for F1, as it brings together the most successful team and driver in the history of the sport. The agreement, as is well known, was strongly desired by Ferrari president John Elkann, driven by admiration for the English driver and the benefits the seven-time world champion could bring to the team: experience, unquestionable added value at the wheel, knowledge of a rival team, methodologies, and visibility.

A move that, after shaking up the driver market, highlighted Ferrari’s desire to return to winning ways after years of drought, as it extends (or culminates) a series of operations carried out in recent months by the Maranello team’s management: the choice of Fréd Vasseur as team principal, the arrival of engineers from rival teams (both junior and “top guys” like Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio), and Charles Leclerc’s contract renewal, which will see him form a dream team with Lewis. This combination of factors has inevitably stirred public opinion, and many within the industry have expressed their views on the matter, often speaking enthusiastically about this partnership and the long wait for the results of such a major move.

Among those who have commented on the situation is Leo Turrini, who on his blog “Profondo Rosso” didn’t hide the anticipation in Maranello for the arrival of the English driver, who is already said to be involved with the team’s affairs and ready to experience it up close, with several rumors suggesting he is looking for a house in Emilia to “settle” in Italy. Furthermore, he is reportedly very interested in the last part of Ferrari’s season to understand the foundations for his 2025 campaign.

“What piques my curiosity is the imminent arrival of Lewis Hamilton in Emilia. Sir Lewis is looking for a residence near Maranello. The seven-time world champion seems determined to experience the Red atmosphere up close. Naturally, in such a context, the most bizarre rumors circulate around the area. […] Some swear that a helicopter, on behalf of the baronet, has flown over several castles in the region. Others, more modestly, suggest the use of a drone. The truth is that expectations in the area are growing exponentially. […] I suppose Lewis is interested in knowing what’s cooking in the pot of the country curate, alias Fred Vasseur. That’s why the developments to be introduced from Austin on the SF24 are more important than one might imagine. […] Therefore, Hamilton’s curiosity (as well as Leclerc’s, of course) is frankly understandable.”

This curiosity also extends to aspects off the track, such as his dietary habits, which are causing “concern” among local restaurateurs who, unlike in the past with Michael Schumacher and other Ferrari legends, might struggle to win over the vegan Lewis with traditional Emilia cuisine.

“Understandable, too, is the anxiety of Mamma Rossella, the legendary cook of Montana, the gastronomic temple where Schumi learned to make tagliatelle. […] She asked me: but do you think Lewis is so vegan that he’ll refuse to taste my ragù?”
