Ferrari: Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc’s teamwork a priority in Las Vegas amid F1 constructors’ title. Carlos Sainz acknowledges that working with Charles Leclerc will be vital in Las Vegas.

Ferrari starts in two strong positions in Las Vegas. Carlos Sainz will launch from the second spot next to pole-sitter George Russell, while his teammate Charles Leclerc will start from fourth behind him.

It will be crucial to capitalize on this advantage to gain as many points as possible over McLaren, which starts further back on the grid. The two teams are currently separated by 36 points.

Carlos Sainz is aware that Las Vegas represents an excellent opportunity to maximize points, especially as Ferrari is expected to be weaker in Qatar: “I think we will go into the race aiming to win because that’s what we need to focus on,” the Spanish driver stated in the post-qualifying press conference – “The McLarens of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri are behind the two Ferraris, so earning points is crucial.” – the future Williams driver pointed out.

In this regard, Carlos Sainz acknowledges that working with Charles Leclerc will be vital during the race. The Spaniard emphasized that this is a shared goal: “We are both primarily focused on winning the constructors’ championship. I won’t lie. I think we are both very motivated to achieve it and are collaborating more than ever,” he said – “Also because I am far behind him in the drivers’ standings due to the two or three DNFs I’ve had this season. Even though I am driving well, I think there are no personal battles going on for the drivers’ championship,” he admitted.

“This means we have a shared interest in securing the constructors’ championship. That’s all that remains for both of us in the championship, and we are collaborating more than ever, as I said, and cooperating as much as possible. We will approach tomorrow’s race knowing this is the number one priority,” he concluded at the end of the qualifying session for the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
