Home » Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc on top of most-followed F1 drivers on social media ranking

Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc on top of most-followed F1 drivers on social media ranking. Lewis Hamilton already takes the top spot as the most-followed F1 driver on social media.

Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton, Ferrari F1 2025

The first showdown between Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc is taking place on social media. Among the 2025 lineup, Ferrari’s new duo is one to watch.

This year, the Monegasque will face off on track (and beyond) against one of the strongest and most iconic personalities in Formula 1. The media impact generated by Sir Lewis has already been felt in his first days at Maranello, where he was greeted by a crowd of fans and even spoke a few shy words in Italian.

Then, the on-track battle. Lewis Hamilton first tested the SF-23 to get familiar with the new car and then drove the SF-24 during Pirelli’s test days in Barcelona. Yesterday, the seven-time world champion set a faster lap than the Monegasque. These times are merely indicative and hold no real value, but they already send a message.

The battle between the new teammates continues on social media, with Lewis Hamilton clearly ahead of Charles Leclerc! Here is the intriguing ranking of the most-followed drivers (as of now), combining followers on X and Instagram:

Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) – 47.5 million
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) – 20.8 million
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) – 17.3 million
Carlos Sainz (Williams) – 13.6 million
Lando Norris (McLaren) – 12.2 million
Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin) – 11.1 million
George Russell (Mercedes) – 8.5 million

For now, we can say that Lewis Hamilton has claimed the social media drivers’ championship with over 47 million followers (a number expected to rise in the coming weeks).

During yesterday’s Pirelli tests in Barcelona, a total of 332 laps were completed, with Lando Norris covering 157, Lewis Hamilton 87, and Charles Leclerc 86.
