The dark side of a Formula 1 driver’s life: Oliver Bearman talks about a great sacrifice. Oliver Bearman shared the hardest part of being a driver with the dream of F1.

Being a driver is the dream of many fans. However, while the lives of F1 stars may seem perfect, they hide a sacrifice that not everyone would be ready for: Oliver Bearman shared this, commenting on the situation he found himself in to pursue the desire to get to where he is today.

Entering the world of motorsport, particularly Formula 1, is not easy, both financially and personally. Since childhood, those who want to become drivers must get used to being away from home for competitions. Italy, for example, is a very important place globally for karting, while to race in single-seaters, drivers move all over Europe, and sometimes even to the United Arab Emirates.

On the circuit, drivers spend most of their childhood and adolescence, and for this reason, the bonds they form are very strong, stronger than those that can be formed outside the track. Oliver Bearman confirmed this, highlighting in an interview how being away from home has affected his personal relationships.

“I lost all my friends in England. This is a less beautiful aspect of my life.” – the Ferrari junior admitted. To emphasize that he is ready to give up everything to pursue his dream, Oliver Bearman added: “But if that was the thing that got me to Formula 1, I would give it up in the blink of an eye every single time. I would have left home five years earlier if it had guaranteed me a place in Formula 1. There’s nothing I wouldn’t do to get into the circus. Nothing can stop me.” – the Haas driver pointed out.

In addition to his friends, Oliver Bearman also had to give up family affection, as his parents were not always willing to follow him on weekends. “I left home when I was 16 and haven’t lived there since; I moved to Italy. They came to visit me and saw me at the races, and I tried to return home to the UK as much as possible to see them, but now I’m at an age where I am independent.” – the British driver concluded.
