Bahrain Test 2025, day 3 results: Charles Leclerc sets fastest lap time on final morning in Bahrain. Ferrari is once again leading the time charts, this time with Charles Leclerc.

Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc topped the timesheets on the final morning of Formula 1’s pre-season testing, setting a benchmark lap of 1:30.811 at the Bahrain International Circuit. The session was fiercely competitive, with Mercedes rookie Andrea Kimi Antonelli trailing by just 0.077 seconds and McLaren’s Lando Norris securing third, 0.132 seconds off the pace.

All three drivers are set to hand over their cars to teammates for the afternoon session, marking their final laps before the season kicks off at the Australian Grand Prix. With testing providing crucial data, teams are fine-tuning their setups ahead of the first race weekend of the year.

Charles Leclerc’s best effort was 0.463 seconds slower than the overall fastest lap of testing, set by Carlos Sainz in the Williams on Thursday, and 0.380 seconds off his own best lap from the previous day. Red Bull’s Max Verstappen, returning to the cockpit for the final day, finished 0.398 seconds behind Charles Leclerc’s leading time. Red Bull’s pace on Thursday, when Liam Lawson was at the wheel, appeared to lag slightly behind Ferrari, McLaren, and Mercedes, though teams often mask their true performance in testing.

A red flag briefly interrupted the session in the final hour when glass from the start-finish gantry shattered and scattered onto the track. Marshals swiftly cleared the debris, and the session resumed after a ten-minute delay.

For the afternoon session, eight teams will rotate drivers, while Red Bull will stick with Verstappen for the full day, and Williams will continue with Alex Albon. There were initial concerns over Lance Stroll’s participation after he felt unwell in the morning, but Aston Martin has since confirmed he will take over from Fernando Alonso for the final run of the test.
