For Scuderia Ferrari the holidays are over and as of this morning everyone is back operational in Maranello. The Italian side has released a brief comment to the Reuters agency regarding the disappearance from the official Ferrari website of two sponsors who were part of the Premium Partners list for 2022, after several media outlets have reported the news in recent days that the Maranello team without the partnerships of Velas and Snapdragon would have lost a budget estimated at 55 million dollars:
“Regarding Snapdragon, it was a one-year commitment and both parties mutually agreed not to extend it. As for Velas at the moment we cannot give you a comment, because the situation is dynamic”.
Snapdragon wanted a longer-term collaboration with the Scuderia, but dropping the agreement with the Qualcomm brand seems to have been a choice made by chief executive officer Benedetto Vigna who for the product area had chosen a competitor of the United States company, so it shouldn’t surprise the consequent consensual termination of the contract.
However, the Scuderia was not taken aback and before the presentation of the 675 car set for February 14th it is very likely that we will see new logos appear: there is a rush of sponsors who would like to secure a place on the red cars. And as confirmed by Motorsport Italy, in the meantime, both HCL Software and BitDefender have joined the list of partners supporting the Prancing Horse at the end of last year.
