Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc expressed satisfaction with the podium achieved at the Saudi Arabian GP, despite the significant gap from Red Bull at the finish line.
If in Bahrain, we saw a visibly upset Charles Leclerc due to brake issues preventing him from reaching his full potential in the race, this time the Monegasque driver seemed much more composed after securing the first podium of the 2024 Formula 1 season at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
Credit goes to the SF-24, which, excluding Red Bull, proved to be a remarkably competitive car, although the gap from the reigning champions remains considerable.
But Charles Leclerc is already on the hunt for Red Bull. “I haven’t checked the pace yet, but I imagine it might have been perhaps 3-4 tenths slower per lap, which is a lot in motorsport,” commented Leclerc post-race. “However, if you examine every part of the car, if you gain one hundredth for each section, then you gain immediately.” – the Ferrari man pointed out – “We are the team that has improved the most because we have worked very well, and we just have to keep doing that. I am sure our moment will come.”
“It is very clear for us what areas we need to work on to improve, which is a positive sign for this season. I don’t know what Red Bull has in terms of developments, and that will be what defines when exactly we’ll be able to match them.”

Continuing the interview, the number 16 hinted that, just like Red Bull, which is rumored to bring a significant package of updates for Imola, Ferrari also has plans in mind to enhance the SF24’s performance and hopefully be able to challenge the Austrian side in the second part of the 2024 Formula 1 campaign.

“We have some things coming as well, although I don’t know exactly when. I mean, I do know, but I can’t say it. So yes, we will continue to work, focus on ourselves, and hopefully, we’ll be able to put them under pressure soon.” – Scuderia Ferrari Monegasque driver Charles Leclerc concluded.
