Simone Resta officially leaves Ferrari: his farewell message to Maranello team and fans on social media. Simone Resta officially leaves Ferrari after 23 years in Maranello.

Through a brief post on social media, Simone Resta has officially said goodbye to Ferrari, with the Italian technician set to join Mercedes starting with the 2025 Formula 1 championship.

After 23 years of honorable service, Simone Resta will no longer be a Ferrari employee starting tomorrow. Through a brief post on social media, the Italian has officially bid farewell to the Maranello team and thanked the team and fans, with the technician now set to observe a gardening period before joining Mercedes in 2025.

Simone Resta says goodbye to the Prancing Horse after 23 years
“2001-2024, last day after 23 years of passion at Ferrari,” Simone Resta begins. “A unique professional experience, with the fortune of meeting exceptional talents.”

“Heartfelt thanks to all those who believed in me and to the fans who have never failed to provide their support over these years. Full speed ahead.” – he wrote on social media.

Simone Resta’s arrival at Brackley as the strategic development director is part of the major exchange conducted with Toto Wolff, which brought Loic Serra and Jerome D’Ambrosio to join the Ferrari project, while the 53-year-old from Faenza will go in the opposite direction.

For Simone Resta, it is a significant change in his professional life, after having spent his entire career in Italy, entering Formula 1 as a research and development engineer at Minardi, and then climbing the ranks within Ferrari’s organizational structure over the years.
