Robin got hurt
As shown in an Instagram story by mom Minttu, little Robin Raikkonen was the victim of an accident during a kart race, which resulted in a fracture of his left arm.

Minttu’s accusations
There is no precise news on what happened, but Minttu Virtanen, wife of Kimi and mother of Robin, made a clear statement: “This is the result of racing in WSK. No rules, no penalties, and a lot of dangerous things happen.”

Born in 2015, Robin won his first kart race in September 2022 and in 2024 won his first kart championship in the Micro Max category of RMC Switzerland. Young Raikkonen is currently racing in WSK, showing some talent that could give him a bright future in motorsport.

Robin Raikkonen has quickly made a name for himself in the karting world, claiming the Swiss Rotax Max Challenge title in the Micro Max category. In 2025, he is competing in the WSK Championship’s MINI U10 class, where he has already secured impressive results, including second and third place finishes at the Sarno circuit, as well as a fourth-place finish at the recent event in Franciacorta, Brescia.

Jacques Villeneuve on Michael Schumacher
It is no secret that there was never any sporting love between Jacques Villeneuve and Michael Schumacher. The two were rivals, especially in the 1996 and 1997 seasons, when the German was trying to bring a world title back to Maranello—a goal he would only achieve a few years later during Ferrari’s golden era of triumphs. They fought wheel-to-wheel, and sometimes even closer, as in the controversial Jerez incident, never holding back in their exchanges.

Years later, however, the Canadian champion revealed that the Kaiser had softened during his second stint in F1, when, in his forties, he returned to the paddock as a Mercedes driver.

“My relationship with Michael Schumacher? Back then,” Jacques Villeneuve said in a lengthy interview with yaysweepstakes.com, “there was no relationship. When you don’t have a connection with someone, you don’t even notice who does. You’re simply not in their circle. It was easier to interact with him when he returned with Mercedes, but that’s something you see with many drivers. They step away for a couple of years, and when they come back, they seem to appreciate how extraordinary racing and F1 truly are. And they enjoy it more. I’d say he ‘softened’—that’s the word I was looking for. You see it with Fernando Alonso, for example. You see it with everyone. They step away and then return for a while.” – he pointed out.

Lewis Hamilton and the F1 title record
Understanding Michael Schumacher’s ruthless competitive nature, the 53-year-old Canadian is convinced that the German would not be pleased to see Lewis Hamilton win his eighth title with Ferrari:

“No one who holds a record wants to be beaten. It’s part of the game—that’s why you’re an athlete. Every driver, myself included, has always said that the number of wins doesn’t matter, that records don’t matter, but that’s not true. You don’t want to seem pompous or arrogant, so you say numbers aren’t important. But of course, they are. It’s part of your ego, part of why you race. You want to win, you want to beat everyone, you want to be the best. You want results, victories, championships, and the highest salary. That’s how you measure yourself. It’s crucial.” – the former Formula 1 driver concluded.

The 2025 edition of the Race of Champions takes place this weekend in Sydney, with Sebastian Vettel and Mick Schumacher, the son of seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Michael, among the participants. Yesterday, a very emotional moment was dedicated to Michael Schumacher.

Together with all the drivers present, the German paid tribute to the former F1 driver by displaying a banner that read: “Keep fighting, Michael. We miss you.”

Michael Schumacher’s last public appearance was in 2013, before his skiing accident in Méribel. Since then, he has not been seen in public and has been kept away from the media. The seven-time F1 champion suffered a severe head injury, which forced him to spend nearly six months in a medically induced coma. Since then, he has been receiving treatment in his Swiss home under the utmost privacy.

Lewis Hamilton, 2024 F1

Lewis Hamilton faces a monumental challenge as he attempts to steer Ferrari back to championship glory, ending their 17-year title drought in Formula 1.

The Scuderia came painfully close to breaking their streak in 2024, narrowly missing out on the constructors’ championship as McLaren edged them by just 14 points. However, Hamilton’s arrival comes at an opportune moment, with Ferrari gaining momentum and positioning themselves as serious title contenders for 2025.

Beyond next season, the team must also focus on the sweeping regulation changes set for 2026, which present a crucial opportunity to gain a long-term competitive edge over their rivals. Hamilton’s recent testing performance left Karun Chandhok stunned, with the pundit describing the seven-time world champion as both “energised” and “reinvigorated.”

However, Ferrari must tread carefully when managing the dynamics between the Briton and his highly talented teammate, Charles Leclerc. Team boss Fred Vasseur has acknowledged the potential for fireworks, as both drivers will be vying for supremacy within the team.

Can Lewis Hamilton Replicate Michael Schumacher’s Influence at Ferrari?

Modern Formula 1 has significantly limited testing opportunities, making it harder for drivers to fully adapt to new machinery. Hamilton has just three days of pre-season running before he faces the intense competition of his first race with Ferrari at the Australian Grand Prix.

Transitioning to a new team is always a challenge, but Hamilton’s move is particularly demanding—he must adjust to a new car, a new working environment, and even a new language, all while having minimal track time to prepare. Ralf Schumacher believes this puts Hamilton at a disadvantage, pointing out that his brother Michael benefited immensely from extensive testing when he led Ferrari to five consecutive world championships. Without that luxury, Lewis Hamilton will have to rely on different methods to make his mark at Maranello. He mentioned to F1-insider.com that Michael had accumulated thousands of kilometers day and night to help the Italian side progress, noting that simulators cannot replace such valuable work today.

Ralf Schumacher Questions the Hype Surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Move

Lewis Hamilton, currently tied with Michael Schumacher for the most Formula 1 world championships in history, is now focused on securing a seventh title with Ferrari—the team where Schumacher achieved much of his legendary success over two decades ago. For Hamilton, winning a title with Ferrari would be the perfect way to cap off his illustrious career, but the path to that goal is far from certain.

It’s been five years since Hamilton last won a championship, and with his time at the top rapidly dwindling, the clock is ticking. While his contract with Ferrari runs for the next two seasons, the future remains uncertain, and retirement could be just around the corner.

However, Ralf Schumacher isn’t entirely convinced by the excitement surrounding the British driver’s move to Ferrari. He expressed doubts about Hamilton’s ability to secure an eighth Formula 1 world title, suggesting that it may be out of reach. Ralf highlighted the challenge Hamilton will face in competing against a formidable teammate like Charles Leclerc, adding that it’s no easy task to go up against one of the sport’s all-time greats. Despite this, he acknowledged that if anyone has the ability to overcome such obstacles, it could very well be Lewis Hamilton.

More than 20 years after their fathers last raced together, the two second-generation drivers will be teammates in LMGT3, driving an Aston Martin.

The Brazilian expressed his excitement about this new adventure, while the German has been chasing (so far unsuccessfully) another chance in Formula 1 for years.

Meanwhile, fans can enjoy the return of a historic duo. Even in a different category and with new protagonists, the excitement is undeniable.

MILAN – A massive crowd gathered for Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc at Piazza Castello in Milan, where many fans attended the presentation of the two drivers and the new Ferrari SF-25, ten days before the Australian GP, which will kick off the new F1 World Championship. On the stage set up in front of Castello Sforzesco, alongside the new single-seater, the car with which former Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher won his last world title was also displayed. When the presenter mentioned the German’s name, the Ferrari crowd erupted in applause, warmly celebrating Schumi.

The memory of Michael Schumacher and the fans in ecstasy: a Ferrari celebration in Milan
“There is a positive energy, a great feeling for the mechanics and drivers,” said Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur from the stage. “It’s fantastic; we don’t often get the chance to do these things in the city. I really like these kinds of events.”

After Schumacher was remembered, Charles Leclerc took center stage, driving the 2019 Ferrari around the streets adjacent to Piazza Castello, simulating a pit stop for a tire change and performing some donuts. “It’s amazing to be here,” said the Monegasque over Team Radio, thrilling the fans. “We’ll try to make you happy this season.”

Then it was Lewis Hamilton’s turn. Like Schumi, a seven-time world champion, he took the wheel amidst the ecstatic crowd, proudly displaying his number 44 and his yellow helmet. Finally, the two drivers “raced” together, simulating a sort of on-track battle.

With Lewis Hamilton now at Ferrari, inevitable comparisons arise between the seven-time world champion and Michael Schumacher, the legendary driver who cemented his legacy with the Scuderia. At 40 years old, Hamilton is entering a critical chapter in his career, hoping to surpass Schumacher’s championship tally and claim an unprecedented eighth title before retiring from Formula 1.

Hamilton remains the most successful driver in F1 history in terms of race wins, but his transition to Ferrari coincides with what could be one of the sport’s most competitive seasons yet. McLaren has emerged as a strong contender after pre-season testing, while Ferrari, Red Bull, and Mercedes are all expected to be in the fight. Given the tight performance gap between teams, race-day execution and driver skill could prove to be the ultimate differentiators.

The fluctuating competitive order means that Hamilton may need to deliver standout performances akin to Carlos Sainz’s triumph in Mexico City or Lando Norris’s stellar drive at Zandvoort last year. However, the British driver has consistently demonstrated his ability to rise to the occasion, making his 2025 prospects all the more intriguing.

Despite Ferrari’s rich history, skepticism remains over whether they can outperform Mercedes, let alone McLaren, based on initial testing. However, the dynamic nature of Formula 1 means the balance of power can shift dramatically over the course of a season.

Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari Transition Reflects Michael Schumacher’s Legacy

Hamilton’s integration into Ferrari has already sparked nostalgic echoes of Schumacher’s time with the team. Unlike his tenure at Mercedes—where he enjoyed greater wardrobe freedom—Ferrari enforces a strict dress code, with Hamilton frequently seen sporting official team apparel, much like Charles Leclerc. This shift aligns with Ferrari’s longstanding emphasis on team identity, reminiscent of Schumacher’s era.

Another familiar sight was Lewis Hamilton’s strategic efforts to evade photographers in the paddock, a practice he has long adhered to in Formula 1. Given his superstar status, he was the center of attention during testing, with photographers eager to capture his every move. In a scene reminiscent of Schumacher’s tenure, Hamilton even managed to mislead the press during a scheduled media appearance—arriving late and leaving photographers scrambling to locate him.

While Ferrari may not currently possess the outright fastest car, Hamilton appeared rejuvenated in Bahrain, a stark contrast to the struggles he endured in his final seasons with Mercedes. His arrival at the Scuderia has reignited excitement within the team and among fans, setting the stage for a potentially historic season.

Lewis Hamilton’s Opportunity to Break a Schumacher Record in 2025

Ferrari has not seen a driver claim the F1 world championship since Kimi Räikkönen’s 2007 triumph, despite boasting talents such as Felipe Massa, Fernando Alonso, Sebastian Vettel, and Charles Leclerc. While all came close, none managed to secure the ultimate prize for the Scuderia.

However, one key trend unites Ferrari’s former champions: their ability to secure an early victory with the team. Fernando Alonso won on his Ferrari debut in Bahrain in 2010, while Vettel claimed his first win for the team in just his second race in Malaysia in 2015. Michael Schumacher, despite arriving with back-to-back championships from Benetton, took seven races before standing on the top step of the podium with Ferrari.

For Hamilton, this presents a clear target—claiming victory within his first six races for Ferrari to surpass Michael Schumacher’s early success with the team. While his ultimate goal remains securing an eighth world championship, an early race win could be a crucial statement of intent in his pursuit of F1 immortality.

Charles Leclerc ’s First SF-25 Run Offers Early Glimpse of Ferrari’s Potential

Charles Leclerc had the honor of being the first to drive Ferrari’s 2025 Formula 1 challenger, the SF-25, during a private test at the team’s Fiorano circuit on Wednesday. The session came just hours after Ferrari’s high-profile livery launch at The O2 in London, where team principal Frédéric Vasseur noted that Lewis Hamilton was visibly emotional as he was officially unveiled as a Ferrari driver in his home country.

Despite the whirlwind schedule, Charles Leclerc was back in his race suit in Italy, logging valuable laps during a 100km filming day. While the Monegasque won’t fully acclimate to the SF-25 until pre-season testing in Bahrain next week, the Fiorano outing provided an early opportunity to assess the car’s initial performance. With only three days of unrestricted running before the season kicks off in Australia, Ferrari is keen to ensure its latest design improvements translate into a genuine championship contender.

After narrowly missing out on the Constructors’ Championship to McLaren in 2024, Ferrari believes its revamped driver lineup gives it the best shot at breaking a 17-year title drought.

Leclerc’s Lap Time Nears Schumacher’s Fiorano Benchmark

According to Formula1.it, Charles Leclerc’s Fiorano run included various setup trials and promotional filming. While exact performance evaluations are difficult at this stage, journalist Paolo Ciccarone, reporting live from the track, noted that Charles Leclerc’s fastest lap of the day was a 56.06-second effort—just a fraction behind Michael Schumacher’s long-standing record of 55.999 seconds.

Given the cold track conditions and the unknown fuel load or setup Ferrari used, the time is an intriguing early indicator of the SF-25’s capabilities. Notably, Charles Leclerc ’s reported best lap in last year’s Ferrari was a 56.88, suggesting Ferrari has made at least a small step forward.

The session wasn’t open to the public, but thousands of Ferrari fans gathered to catch a glimpse of the team’s new car in action. Meanwhile, Hamilton’s fastest time remains undisclosed, and with reports of Charles Leclerc’s car stopping on track, it’s possible Ferrari opted for a more conservative approach with its newest signing.

Could Leclerc Disrupt Hamilton’s Ferrari Debut?

Speaking after his initial run, Leclerc made it clear that Ferrari must aim to fight for both the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships in 2025. If the SF-25 proves to be a frontrunner, the Monegasque may find himself in the perfect position to chase his first title—and potentially overshadow Hamilton’s debut season in red.

Charles Leclerc’s qualifying prowess could give him an edge over Hamilton on Saturdays, and if Ferrari finds itself in a title fight, strategic calls may favor the driver starting ahead. With Max Verstappen still the benchmark, Charles Leclerc has a golden opportunity to stake his claim as Ferrari’s best shot at ending Red Bull’s dominance.

In a significant legal development, a German court has issued its verdict in the extortion case involving the family of Formula 1 legend Michael Schumacher. As with any story related to the seven-time world champion, the case has attracted widespread public attention.

Three suspects were accused of attempting to extort €15 million from the Schumacher family by threatening to release private photos. Since Michael Schumacher’s severe skiing accident in 2013, his family has fiercely protected his privacy, keeping him out of the public eye.

The Schumacher Family Still Under Scrutiny

The court ruling resulted in varying sentences for the suspects:

  • Yilmaz T. was sentenced to three years in prison.
  • His son, Daniel L., received a six-month suspended sentence.
  • Markus F., a former security guard for the Schumacher family, was given a two-year suspended sentence.

The Schumacher family has expressed dissatisfaction with the leniency of Markus F.’s sentence and has announced their intention to appeal. Corinna Schumacher, Michael’s wife, believes that Markus was the mastermind behind the extortion attempt, stating: “We have appealed against what we consider to be a too-light sentence for Mr. F. He should receive a punishment that deters any potential imitators.”

“What upsets me even more is the massive breach of trust.” This breach of trust is a critical aspect of the case, affecting not only the family’s privacy but also raising concerns about personal security.

Kimi Raikkonen, Ferrari’s last triumph
Every Ferrari fan holds Kimi Raikkonen close to their heart, as he brought the last Drivers’ Championship to Maranello thanks to a perfect end to the 2007 season and a series of events that played entirely in his favor in the battle against Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso.

Iceman’s title remains the last joy for Ferrari fans, who have been waiting 17 years for another Drivers’ Championship. What should have been the start of a new cycle instead turned out to be a premature swan song: after Interlagos 2007, Kimi Raikkonen won only six more races (four with Ferrari, two with Lotus), even taking a break from Formula 1 to compete in the World Rally Championship.

David Coulthard’s comments
A unique character, described by former McLaren teammate David Coulthard as follows: “He was a great natural talent. He went straight from Formula Renault to driving a Sauber at Mugello, one of the scariest circuits you can drive on in an F1 car,” he said on The Red Flags podcast.

Nevertheless, Iceman could have left a much greater mark in F1 history: “He had immense talent and won a World Championship. But if he had Michael Schumacher’s work ethic, he would have won more. Michael kept the engineers and mechanics accountable, both at the track and in the factory. He pushed them, and they understood him. That was the fuel that helped everyone improve.” – the former Red Bull driver concluded.
