Prince Albert II: “Impossible to imagine a Formula 1 season without the Monaco GP”. Prince Albert II on the future of the Monaco GP.

For the more traditional Formula 1 fans, the official confirmation of the 24 races that will make up the 2023 Formula 1 calendar was experienced with a big sigh of relief: in addition to the confirmations of historic appointments in Europe, with two events to be held in Italy, the fear of no longer having the Monaco Grand Prix on the calendar has disappeared.

The event, scheduled for May 28 as the eighth round of the 2023 Formula 1 world championship, was confirmed not only for the following campaign, but also for the next two. In this way, Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc will still have the opportunity to try to win his home race for the next three years, hoping to receive the trophy on the top step of the podium from the Monegasque Princely Family.

Speaking of the latter, the comment on the renewal of the most glamorous Grand Prix in the world came directly from Prince Albert II of Monaco, who thus expressed all his happiness for this temporary outcome in a recent interview for Monaco Info:

“It is a great satisfaction for us” – he admitted – “It would have been impossible for me to imagine a Formula 1 season without the Monaco Grand Prix. Not only for historical reasons, but also for the importance of a similar GP in the world of motorsport and Formula 1 in particular. It is an important event for the life of the Principality under various aspects: certainly on the economic level, but also on because of prestige and popularity. It is a tradition that has endured for almost a hundred years and therefore I can only be very happy. I would like to thank the Automobile Club de Monaco, Formula 1 and the FIA for working on this extremely positive result, which will allow us to continue together for the development of motor sports and Formula in particular ” – Prince Albert II concluded.
