Ferrari continues to hit the track. It did so yesterday morning with Arthur Leclerc aboard the still solid F1-75. A car somewhat hampered by technical directive TD039. While later in the afternoon, Spanish driver Carlos Sainz was the one testing the 2022 Ferrari F1 edition. The data collection, even with a car two years old, will still be useful to continue accumulating know-how on tire management and the use of specific software that manages the power supplied by the 066/10.
We discussed this on our pages yesterday. A truly interesting topic, even though the confidentiality of the operations carried out is undoubtedly maximum. An approach that matches the desire and necessity to adopt a low-key attitude because any slight distraction, from now on, is not allowed at all. For this reason, the unveiling of the Ferrari SF-24 will be quite “stung,” and at the moment, it is not even known if the images will completely reflect the car that will compete in the 2024 Formula One season.
Ferrari on the track with Arthur Leclerc and Carlos Sainz to enhance know-how on Pirelli tires
Returning to the Fiorano track owned by the Prancing Horse, today’s ongoing tests arise from the opportunity offered by the International Federation through the Italian manufacturer Pirelli, the sole supplier of tires in the top category of motorsport. A chance, indeed, with the newly built demo tires, to verify the validity of the product for the future. The feedback from Leclerc’s younger brother has already been stored. Information that will be cross-referenced with the data collected during the upcoming shake-downs, as well as in the pre-season tests scheduled for February 21, 22, and 23.

Above, we can see a video posted by the Scuderia Ferrari. A short clip that showcases Arthur Leclerc’s work, who, for the 2024 racing campaign, will serve as a test driver for the red team. This move will be carried out despite the twenty-three-year-old no longer being part of the Ferrari Driver Academy. A decision that, in fact, goes hand in hand with the choice of the Dams team to remove the steering wheel from Arthur after a somewhat disappointing season in terms of on-track performance.
The opportunity to give some kilometers to the regular drivers exists here since, after months of inactivity, today Sainz can finally get back behind the wheel of an F1 car. A very useful training for the Spanish driver, who decided to change his approach to training this winter, dedicating much more time to cardio training. Carlos is ready to face the new season and, if Maranello’s latest work allows, is determined to fight for the top, focusing only on himself.
