The 30th anniversary
In 1991, Michael Schumacher made his debut at the Belgian Grand Prix, while a year later on the same circuit, the German clinched the first of his 91 Formula 1 victories. In 1994, he secured the first of the seven championships, a milestone celebrated this year marking three decades.
Spa pays homage to Michael Schumacher
And what better circuit than Spa-Francorchamps – where the F1 legend triumphed six times – to provide a fitting backdrop to the celebrations of the 30th anniversary of the first title. Legends Experiences, together with the Schumacher family foundation Keep Fighting, will organize events during the weekend of July 26-28 (coinciding with the F1 race in Belgium) to honor the occasion.
Old cars of the racing champion from Kerpen will be displayed, and significant items and memorabilia from Michael Schumacher’s career will be auctioned (with proceeds going to the Keep Fighting foundation). Moreover, a limited number of attendees can participate in an evening called “An Evening for Michael,” where Formula 1 icons will share untold stories about the German.
Michael Schumacher’s manager, Sabine Kehm, commented: “For Keep Fighting and Michael’s family, this is the first time they decide to support an experience like this. We are delighted to celebrate his career right at Spa-Francorchamps, where it all began in F1. We are proud to be the launch event for Legends Lounge.” Legends Lounge will collaborate with Formula 1 to enhance hospitality services during the Grand Prix, focusing on long-time enthusiasts, and will debut at the Belgian GP in 2024.
