Aston Martin rises, Ferrari-powered teams drop: comparison between 2022 and 2023. Let's take a look at the comparison between the constructors' standings in 2022 and 2023.

Let’s take a look at the comparison between the constructors’ standings in 2022 and 2023: Aston Martin makes a leap forward, while Ferrari-powered teams decline. One week after the end of the season, let’s examine the comparison between the constructors’ standings in 2022 and 2023. From some surprises in the early part of the season to teams that managed to climb during the year, the just-concluded season was very unpredictable.

With the exception of Red Bull’s dominance, the only consistent factor of the season that saw Max Verstappen clinch the third world title, the grid hierarchies changed very rapidly. At the beginning of the 2023 Formula 1 season, Aston Martin surprised everyone with great competitiveness displayed both in testing and in the first Grand Prix of the year.

However, Lawrence Stroll’s team couldn’t live up to the expectations it had created, mainly due to a development that didn’t fully convince. Despite this, Fernando Alonso’s team managed to move from the seventh position in 2022 to the fifth in 2023, just behind the top teams.

Looking at the comparative chart, it is evident that all three Ferrari-powered teams performed worse than the previous season. At Abu Dhabi, the Scuderia failed to secure the second position, which would have matched last year’s result, while Alfa Romeo and Haas finished 2023 in the ninth and tenth positions, respectively.

On the other hand, it’s a different story for the Mercedes-powered teams. In addition to the Silver Arrows and the aforementioned Aston Martin, Williams and McLaren also made progress. The latter, after a very challenging start to the season, managed to slowly climb the standings to finish in fourth place overall.
