The 2013 Chinese Grand Prix was held on 14 April at the Shanghai International Circuit in Shanghai, China. The race was the third round of the 2013 season, and marked the tenth running of the Chinese Grand Prix as a round of the Formula One World Championship. The race was won by Fernando Alonso for Ferrari, becoming the third different driver to win at the start of 2013 with victory in the Chinese Grand Prix.
The Spanish driver passed pole sitter Lewis Hamilton on lap five shortly be they pitted to replace the soft tyres they started on. That dropped them back into the pack but Alonso always stayed in front of those on the same strategy as them.
Fernando Alonso took his first victory of the year in China, with a three-stop strategy. The Ferrari driver started from third on the grid on the P Zero Yellow soft tyre, and then completed three stints on the P Zero White medium tyre to win the race by 10 seconds from Lotus driver Kimi Raikkonen.
