Christian Horner feels “if Ferrari had signed Adrian Newey, Max Verstappen would’ve gone with him”

Red Bull Team Principal, Christian Horner, stated that “Ferrari was stupid not to hire Adrian Newey,” especially because “Max Verstappen would have gone with him.”

The backstory
“Adrian was very close to leaving; he was about half an hour away from signing [with Ferrari, editor’s note],” the Brit revealed in a recent interview – “Ferrari went in hard with him, promised him the world. You can have a Hollywood lifestyle, fly from Monaco to the factory every day, not pay taxes, you can design a road car and this, that, and the other,” he added.

The Red Bull Team Principal commented on “the stupidity of all the other teams,” but particularly Ferrari: “[It’s incredible, editor’s note] The stupidity of all the other teams and how one man, Adrian Newey, has made everyone else look ridiculous.” – he pointed out.

“Ferrari would have already won four or five World Championships”
“If only Ferrari had the brains to hire Adrian eight years ago, or even seven or six years ago, paying him two billion or whatever figure it was, they would have recouped all their money and more because they would have already won four or five World Championships.”

“The fact that Ferrari didn’t do it is actually more stupid, I believe, than how Adrian is making everyone else look right now in terms of stupidity, if you will,” Christian Horner criticized.

Then the revelation about Max Verstappen: “Because if he had gone to Ferrari, undoubtedly Ferrari would have won more championships. Probably Max [Verstappen, editor’s note] would have gone with him. [Ferrari, editor’s note] They didn’t do it, huh [referring to hiring Newey, editor’s note]? They didn’t do it, and that’s it,” Christian Horner concluded incredulously.
