Timo Glock believes “it would have been nice to see Lewis Hamilton in Ferrari”. Timo Glock would have liked to see Lewis Hamilton driving for Ferrari.

Two years without victories
The difficulties faced by Mercedes in 2022 and Red Bull’s almost total dominance this year have had a negative impact on the seven-time champion Lewis Hamilton, who has been away from victory for two consecutive seasons. From 2007 to 2021, from his debut in the sport until Max Verstappen‘s explosive record-breaking performance, the Englishman had achieved at least one victory in every season, leading to a hiatus he has yet to overcome.

Talent in question
Lewis Hamilton’s goal will obviously be to return to the top step of the podium in 2024, although his prolonged absence from the most coveted place for a driver has raised doubts about the form of the winner of 103 GPs in his career, a figure that is an absolute record in the history of Formula 1. The current crisis, combined with that of Mercedes, has caused some to no longer consider Lewis Hamilton’s talent as one of the best.

Timo Glock’s Defense
A strongly debated opinion from a former driver like Timo Glock, with the German deeming this consideration absurd: “It makes me laugh that people say Lewis has lost his talent – the German professional racing driver, and BMW Motorsport works driver stated in a recent interview – “it’s ridiculous. How could that be? It’s impossible, and it’s not the case. Maybe if he were over 50, but Lewis is still there, and if he has the right package, he can be a world champion again.” – he continued.

The scenario of a future elsewhere
During this season, Lewis Hamilton reached an agreement regarding the contract renewal with Mercedes, with the parties remaining united until 2025. This news was received by Timo Glock with the awareness that the Brackley team is the ideal place for Lewis Hamilton, but also with a hint of regret, as he would have preferred to see the Englishman in action with other teams in the coming years: “Lewis knows exactly what he has available there – he commented – perhaps it would have been nice to see him with a Ferrari. But if you look at the facts, the biggest chance of winning the championship is with Mercedes, because he wouldn’t have switched to Red Bull. The decision to stay where he is was right.” -the former Jordan, Toyota, Virgin Racing and Marussia driver concluded.
