Italian journalist feels “there is one driver who truly deserves to race for Ferrari”. Italian journalist Giorgio Terruzzi shares his thoughts on .

In 2024, there is a driver who will wear the Ferrari red with great merit: Robert Kubica, who will drive the Ferrari 499P in the WEC. For the Polish racing driver, arriving in Maranello is the culmination of a journey that was never completed in 2012 when he was the first contender to partner with Fernando Alonso at Ferrari. However, an off-season rally accident forced him to leave motorsport for a while. With great tenacity, step by step, he managed to make his way back, with a brief stint in Formula 1, to reach the WEC. Next year, he will be behind the wheel of the third car for the AF Corse team, alongside Yifei Ye and Robert Shwartzman.

For this reason, Italian journalist and motorsport expert Giorgio Terruzzi wanted to dedicate an article to the Polish driver. “I’ll say it straight away: I have a soft spot for Robert, an extraordinary talent, a guy with fierce determination, a stubborn guy, a feigned grump, a person I have always felt connected to. His recovery was faced using an extra-strong character but also a deep bitterness because Robert Kubica, not only in my opinion, would have had many chances to do huge things in the most prestigious and coveted championship. He knows it very well, and this is the reason that casts a deep shadow on his actions.” – the Italian journalist pointed out.

“It went as it went, that’s it. But this engagement, with the first test at Imola full of good vibes and high expectations, seems to me a precious compensation for a 38-year-old former Polish youngster who never gave up despite the signs and impairments that the accident left him. He is marked in body and soul, not in the spirit of the fighter, the intelligence in observing and understanding what is inside and around a car. Finding Kubica on the track and in competition in another championship, inside a Ferrari, is excellent news. For him, for those who love racing, for the fans of the Prancing Horse. And, above all, for those who may have some trouble between the head and the heart, those who need a good example not to give up, not to give in, day after day,” wrote the Italian journalist on the Red Bull website.
